Seventeen years ago, I took a leap of faith and moved to Switzerland, leaving behind pretty much everything and everyone I knew.
It was supposed to be an adventure, a temporary change of scenery. Little did I know that this journey would also be a start of a new chapter in my life.
At the time, I didn't know that almost 40% of Switzerland's population has a migration background. Many of them, young people like me, were filling a position that needed a highly skilled person.
At the time, I didn't know either, that Switzerland lives and breathes innovation. It consistently ranks on the top of innovation lists, including 13 consecutive years as number one on the Global Innovation Index.
Switzerland is celebrating its birthday tomorrow. It's a day to remember the Federal Charter of 1291, in which the localities of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden pledged to help each other if attacked.
It's 733 years of trust and collaboration among cantons and individuals that have provided us all with the opportunity to grow and thrive!
I'm so grateful to live and raise my child in a country that welcomes hardworking individuals from around the world, fosters collaboration, and lays the foundation for so much innovation.

P.S.: on the 📸, it's one of my favorite Swiss traditions: visiting the Swiss National Circus Knie with my son every year 🎪
