ChatGPT*, or GenAI* in general, is getting really good at some jobs. A recent study of BCG show that when we try to change what AI does in areas where it's already good, we often make it worse, not better.
GenAI is Not Just for Starting
We tend think of GenAI as a tool to get us started, and then we finish the job. At least many of us thinks that in November 2023 🤪 But, it's time to think differently. If GenAI does something well, we might use its work as the final product, not just a first draft.
What It is Good at, and What It's Not
GenAI is great at coming up with creative ideas. But it's not so good yet at solving complex business problems. Knowing this helps us decide when to use GenAI and when to rely on human skills.
Working Together
Instead of always changing what GenAI does, we should check if it meets our rules and needs. If it does, we can often use it as it is. This saves us time and lets us focus on things that GenAI can't do yet.
The Future: Teaming Up with GenAI
Teaming up with AI in the right way helps us to be more effective in our work. It allows us to apply our unique skills to the tasks that really need them, opening up new and exciting possibilities for how we work in the future.
